Listening as Double Articulation

As individuals we all have interests that make us unique from others.  In this being said double articulation plays a major role in helping one find out their likes and dislikes.  This can be closely related to the type of music an individual likes.  An everyday scenario that is similar to this situation is scrolling through certain radio stations in the car in order to find something of value.  As stated by Chris McRae,"These genres also shape the ways we make sense of music as cultural forms" (73).  By having certain categories for people it gives them the ability to pick and choose as they like.

A movie I can relate this topic to is a scene from Transformers when Bumble Bee is scrolling through stations to find the right song for Sam Witwiki in a romantic situation.  It relates to this situation because it was expressing how one may perceive love in our culture.  This is important because music often times plays a major role in our lives in being able to express ourselves.
